Commercial Drone Work

In 2017, I began flying a drone commercially for Kimley-Horn as their first Midwest regional pilot. It was a wonderful opportunity to take a personal passion of mine and bring it into our firm. Since then, we’ve licensed an additional pilot, have a third in training, and average one drone project every two weeks. I’ve had the opportunity to fly professionally in six states on numerous land development, transit, and aviation projects. In 2020 I became the first drone pilot to operate a mission on the Detroit Metro Airport (DTW) airfield after years of partnership between DTW and Kimley-Horn. Months of coordination and outlining safety procedures paid off in an incredible two days documenting recent construction to their runways and new deicing facility.

Drone aerials and video I’ve captured have been used in interactive leave behinds, presentation videos, and as marketing images on various projects that can be found throughout my entire portfolio - below are just a few highlights of the kind of sites I’ve had the opportunity to fly.
